Ingredients
- 55 g Basmati rice
- 35 g Toor dal
- ½ carrot Carrots
- 30 g Green beans
- 20 g Green peas
- ¼ tomato Tomatoes
- 1 tsp Tamarind paste
- 1¼ tsp Sambar powder
- 1¼ tsp Ghee
- 8 g Cashews
- 2 g Curry leaves
- ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
- ½ tbsp Sunflower oil
- ¼ tsp Salt
Method
- Simmer the toor dal until soft and mash lightly.
- Cook the rice separately until tender.
- Simmer the carrot, beans, peas and tomato with the tamarind and sambar powder for 10 minutes until tender.
- Combine the vegetables with the dal and rice, adding water to loosen to a thick, stew-like consistency, and simmer 5 minutes.
- Heat the oil and ghee, fry the cashews and splutter mustard seeds and curry leaves, then pour over the top before serving hot.
