Bistek tagalog (Filipino beef steak)
Thin beef slices braised in soy sauce, calamansi and onion until tender.

Ingredients
- 150 g Sirloin steak
- 1¼ tbsp Soy sauce (reduced salt)
- ½ lime Limes
- ¾ onion Onion
- 2 cloves Garlic
- ¾ tsp Black pepper
- ½ tbsp Sunflower oil
- 60 g Jasmine rice
Method
- Cook the rice in a covered pan with water for 20 minutes.
- Marinate the beef in soy sauce, lime juice, garlic and pepper for 10 minutes.
- Heat the oil in a pan and sear the beef for 2 minutes per side, then remove.
- Fry the onion rings in the same pan for 4 minutes until softened and lightly caramelised.
- Return the beef with any marinade, warm through 2 minutes, and serve with the rice and onions.
