Split pea and ham soup
A thick, warming soup of split peas, ham and carrot.

Per serving, for one person.
Ingredients
- 60 g Chana dal
- 50 g Deli ham (lean)
- ¾ carrot Carrots
- ½ onion Onion
- 350 ml Vegetable stock
Method
- Rinse the chana dal. Cook the onion and carrot in a splash of the stock for 6 minutes until softening.
- Add the chana dal, ham and remaining stock, and bring to a simmer.
- Cover and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the dal is tender and the soup has thickened.
- Blend part of the soup for a creamier texture if you like, and season to taste.
