Moong dal khichdi
Rice and yellow moong dal simmered soft together and finished with a warm ghee-cumin tempering.

Ingredients
- 55 g Basmati rice
- 45 g Moong dal (yellow)
- ¾ tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 2 tsp Ghee
- ½ chilli Green chillies
- ½ tsp Salt
- 5 g Coriander
Method
- Wash the rice and dal together and cook with turmeric in 500ml water for 18 minutes until soft and porridge-like.
- Season with salt and mash lightly with the back of a spoon.
- Melt the ghee, splutter cumin and chilli, and pour this tempering over the khichdi.
- Stir through and finish with chopped coriander.
