Crisp split pea fritters spiced with turmeric and onion, a Burmese teahouse snack.

Ingredients
- 45 g Chana dal
- ¼ onion Onion
- 2 cloves Garlic
- ¾ tsp Turmeric
- ¾ tsp Chilli powder
- 10 g Rice flour
- ½ tbsp Sunflower oil
- ¼ tsp Salt
Method
- Soak the chana dal for at least 2 hours, then drain and blitz coarsely with a splash of water.
- Mix in the onion, garlic, turmeric, chilli powder, rice flour and salt.
- Shape into small flat patties.
- Heat the oil in a pan and fry the fritters for 3 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
