Ingredients
- 90 g Toor dal
- ½ onion Onion
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 6 g Ginger
- ¾ tsp Turmeric
- ½ tomato Tomatoes
- ½ tbsp Sunflower oil
- 55 g Jasmine rice
- 5 g Coriander
Method
- Cook the rice in a covered pan with water for 20 minutes.
- Simmer the dal with turmeric in 450ml water for 22 minutes until soft, then mash lightly.
- Fry the onion in the oil for 6 minutes, add garlic, ginger and tomato, cook 5 minutes until softened.
- Stir the onion mixture into the dal and simmer 5 minutes.
- Scatter with coriander and serve with the rice.
